Terms of Service
By using HireOne you agree to these terms. HireOne is a marketplace connecting homeowners with tradespeople. We do not directly employ any tradespeople and are not responsible for the quality of work carried out.
For Homeowners: You agree to provide accurate job descriptions and contact details. Jobs posted in bad faith may be removed. You are responsible for agreeing terms directly with your chosen tradesperson.
For Tradespeople: By registering, you confirm you hold appropriate qualifications, insurance, and licences required by law for the work you undertake. Misrepresentation may result in account suspension.
Payments: Payments for work are made directly between homeowners and tradespeople. HireOne does not hold or process payments for work carried out. You are solely responsible for agreeing payment terms directly with the tradesperson before work begins. We recommend always getting a written quote and never paying the full amount upfront. Note: HireOne collects platform success fees directly from trade accounts via Stripe upon job completion.
Prohibited Activity: You must not use HireOne for fraudulent purposes, post spam or fake reviews, or attempt to circumvent our platform fees.
HireOne reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms. These terms are governed by English law and subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Trade Success Fee Agreement
By registering as a tradesperson on HireOne, you agree to pay a success fee on the total value of any job won through the platform. The fee rate is a flat 2% for all subscription plans.
Fee rates are correct as of the date of these terms. Any changes will be communicated with 30 days' notice.
Success fees are calculated on the agreed job value (the accepted quote amount). Fees are collected automatically from your saved Stripe payment method when a job is marked as complete. You will receive an email receipt after each successful charge. Failure to maintain a valid payment method on file may result in account suspension.
Fee circumvention: Attempting to conduct HireOne-matched transactions off-platform to avoid fees is a material breach of these terms and may result in permanent account termination and legal action.
Monthly subscription fees for paid plans are agreed separately when upgrading. No lock-in — you may cancel at any time. Access continues until the end of your current billing period.
