Trust Score

Why one number tells you who to hire

Every trade on HireOne carries a Trust Score out of 100. It is calculated automatically — nobody can pay to raise it.

What goes into the score

Six inputs, recalculated every time something changes.

Identity verified

Up to 25 points

Photo ID checked against the business owner's details. Nobody trades on HireOne anonymously.

Insurance and qualifications

Up to 25 points

Public liability cover in date, plus trade bodies like Gas Safe or NICEIC where the work needs them. Documents are re-checked when they expire.

Verified reviews

Up to 25 points

Only homeowners who actually paid for a job through HireOne can leave a review, so the ratings cannot be gamed.

Responsiveness and completion

Up to 15 points

How quickly quotes come back, and how many accepted jobs are finished and signed off.

Payment history

Up to 10 points

Clean ProtectedPay milestones released without delay build the score over time.

Disputes

Deductions

Any dispute resolved against a trade takes points off the score, and the deduction stays visible on their profile.

Reading the bands

What a score actually means when you are choosing between quotes.

90 – 100Elite

Fully verified, long clean record, consistently top reviews.

75 – 89Trusted

Verified and well reviewed. The great majority of active trades.

60 – 74Established

Verified, still building a review history on HireOne.

Below 60New or flagged

Newly joined, missing documents, or carrying dispute deductions.

A high score is not a guarantee, and it never replaces your own judgement. It does mean the documents have been checked and the reviews come from paid, completed jobs.
